Setting Some Goals: December 2017

It feels so weird to type December. How in the world did we get to December already?

I haven't had many goals lately, specifically with this blog, so I thought it was a good time to set a few. Life really started moving when I found out I was expecting!

I have fought with myself off and on whether I wanted to keep this blog or let it go for a bit. I have definitely cut down on posting, but in the end I am not ready to stop blogging. I want to talk about all kinds of stuff and read what everyone else is doing.

Today I am setting a couple of goals. Specifically heavy on the blogging ones.

Blog at least 1 time per week - I used to commit to 3 days a week. That has definitely not been happening. I want to show up at minimum once a week. If more, it's a bonus!

Twitter - I deleted Twitter off my phone months ago and since doing that, I rarely go on. I logged in randomly this week and had questions about my tea swap, which sadly I will not be hosting this year. I need to get back to it.

Connecting - I work from home. I don't feel like I connect much with the world anymore being at home so often.  I need to make new connections, whether it be online or in real life. Who wants to be friends?!

Planning ahead: I have always been a procrastinator. It's in my blood. I need to get better at planning ahead, both blog and personal. I have a little one on the way and I know my time is going to get much more limited than it already seems to be.

Meditating: I have fallen off the mediation wagon. I miss it and need to allow myself that quiet time and space every day for me. I am going to start doing it first thing when the house is quiet and I can get some peace to myself.

I think these are some pretty good goals for me at the moment. I'm taking it one day at a time and trying to do it all. I know I can't, but tell that to my ego.

I will be posting a few things over the next few weeks that are surprisingly already planned. Some baby updates, Christmas stuff, and got only knows what else!

See you soon and I hope you have a fabulous December :D

Awesome Things: December Edition

Why hello there December. So nice to see you. SO glad you are keeping your cool temps at bay.. remind Winter to do the same once she gets here as well. (Knocking on all the wood in the house now. No way am I going to jinx the warmer temps we have been getting up here in central New York!) Anywho, today I am excited to be co-hosting The Awesome Link up with Anne over at Love the Here and Now!

So let's see what's currently cooking in the awesome pot..

December Birthday

The holidays are in full swing and I get to end the year with not only a party into the new year but with another birthday. I am a new years eve baby so there is normally not a problem finding a party, but it is hard to find people to celebrate the birthday side of that day. One thing I do look forward to is lunch with my mom. It is a new tradition since I moved out of state. She takes me to lunch when I can come visit and we order the works. Appetizers, festive drinks, yummy entrees and of course dessert!

The place we do lunch every year for my birthday! Always decked out beautifully!

Journalling

I have recently gotten into writing in a journal. I am debating starting a second one. The reason for this is the one I have been focusing on is a personal one about how I am working on me. It gives me daily quotes to help remind me that I am doing okay. I have enjoyed exploring my thoughts on a personal level but am not wanting to expand into other things. I think keeping those things separate would work best for me.

Adult Coloring Books

My creative side has really shown lately with the writing and now the coloring. Having a book to color in is not only relaxing but gets me excited to get off my computer. I feel like all I have done over the past year is waste a lot of time surfing the internet for no real reason. Being able to disconnect and do something else is really making the difference.

Swaps!

I keep missing all of the fun swaps out there, but I think I will be on the list for all kinds in 2016. Speaking of swaps, have you joined my Holiday Tea Swap?! Nothing like sampling some new teas for the winter season.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday

I'm not gonna lie, I did a little shopping this year. I am a sucker for a good deal, and man did I hit the jackpot this year! Not only did a get some great Christmas gifts for my family at the outlets, I also was able to find myself a deal on upgrading my cell phone (FINALLY!) without having to pay that ridiculous monthly fee all the phone companies are charging there days. I call that a super win!

Dream

Another outcome of Cyber Monday.. I was able to snag an amazing deal at Dream Midtown in NYC. It has been my "dream" to stay there forever! I have a kanji tattoo on my foot that says "Dream". It is there to remind me to never give up. When I found out there was a hotel with that name I wanted to go, but alas it was way out of my price range. Now me and R will be staying there for our anniversary in March!

So much awesome happening! I hope you all have some awesome to share with us! Link up below!

10 Reasons December Birthday SUCKS!

So many of you know, I share a birthday with a little holiday call New Years Eve. Have you heard of it? Oh you know, it's only one of the biggest party nights of the year! I have read a lot of lists on why December birthdays suck, but at least if you were born on December 19th you still get your own day so to speak. It's still rough, but it's not a world holiday. I wanted to share with you 10 reasons why December birthday, specifically on New Years Eve suck!

* Everyone is out of town. They go home to visit friends and family. Because of course no one calls their current town home anymore, its where ever they last lives for more than 5 years.

* The people who didn't go "home" have a party to go to. Cause lets face it, if your party isn't  "happening" then your plans ain't happening!

* Bakeries get a little thrown off when you ask for a "Happy Birthday" cake. Don't know how many times I've been asked to "come again?"

*Christmas happens. You just got a gift for Christmas. Why do you need another one for your birthday? Isn't one enough?!

* You get a "December birthday" card every year from at least 4 people (IF they remember at all). Can't anyone just forget its December and just send me a normal card?

*You try to be reasonable and move your birthday festivities to the beginning of the month. Your response: I just spent all my money on black Friday. I'm broke.

* You re-think your reasoning and realize early December is to early, how about mid-December? Response: Sorry I have a holiday party to attend! Darn!

* Your best friends swear they are throwing you the best birthday party yet! You walk in to streamers, noise makers, HAPPY 20?? everything, and 50 of your closest friends. Um awkward?

* Shoot! I live in the north. There's a foot of snow outside, its below freezing, and having the strength to look cute gets harder by the minute. Aren't sweat pants sexy?

* And my all time favorite reason why having a NYE birthday sucks: I get another 365 day to think about all the wonderful plans I want to make for next years birthday bash! Sweet! A girl can dream right?

Happy December!

Oh my word.. It's December 1st folks! I am so excited to finally make it to December. Not because it's the holidays, but because this is the month of my birthday! I graced the world with my presence on December 31st as a New Years Eve baby! Now don't go asking my mom why she didn't hold out to bring in the first baby of the new year. It will probably result in bodily harm since A. She gets asked that ALL the time and B. She was already in labor with me 26 HOURS when I decided to come out at 2:39 IN THE AFTERNOON. There was NO WAY she was ever going to hold off another 9 1/2 hours to deliver me.

So now that you have heard the story of why I am not a new years baby, I wanted to announce that this month I will host my first ever giveaway on this site. I will go into more detail of that as we get into the month. I want to host something that ends on the 31st, when it will be considered a party! If you have any interest in helping me host my birthday party, e-mail me! I am still kicking around some ideas, but I want to make it a fun and exciting giveaway/celebration.

Now that I got the exciting part posted, I need to talk about the fact that I completely neglected promoting my blog last week. With Thanksgiving and all the crazy that came with it, I completely let me blog down. I wrote some pretty great posts, and yet not many people saw them. So I want to give them all the love they all deserve and promote the heck out of them this week!

First up: Who doesn't love a good gift card? Not only do they make good gifts, there are so many other useful things you can do with them. Check them out here---> The Magic of Giftcards

Next up: Check your body image at the door this holiday season. Reasons why you can still indulge on the holiday and not completely ruin your hard work: Body Image (A little rant)
Last, but certainly not least: Do you consider yourself an Influenster? Blogging comes with some big shoes to fill, so why not influence in positive ways: Find out why I am an Influesnter and how you can be too!

So there you have it folks. December is going to be an awesome month, and I'm starting you off with some pretty awesome posts. I hope you have a great week!
