100 Dreams Project - Final

Happy Friday Friends! Today is the day. I am finishing up my 100 Dreams Project. It has been 10 full weeks and I have made it to the finish line! This is a HUGE milestone for me. In the past I have definitely slacked on series and that was part of my problem here on the blog. The last 10 weeks has really shown me how to stay on track and shoot for the stars.

If I want to make these dreams come true, I had to be able to at least commit to writing them down. So drum roll please.. I present to you the final 10 dreams in my project *tear* :

91. Fly in a private plane flown by my husband (He had a pilots license many moons ago)
92. Walk in a fashion show (For petites)
93. Learn to snorkel and/or scuba dive (Another one to get over my water fear)
94. Invent something useful
95. Attend the Oscars
96. Learn to make my own wine
97. Open a Bed and Breakfast (Maybe with a vineyard?)
98. Attend the Grammy's... Again
99. Inspire other's to follow their dreams
100. Follow and achieve all of these dreams list and continue to grow past 100 dreams

I am so very happy to have you all along on this amazing journey I've been on the past 10 weeks with this project. It was very much a growth project for me and I got to know myself a little better while doing this list. It reminded me that no dream was too small or silly. I know there are more to add now that my life is evolving. I have a son and he will be a big part of my dreams moving forward. A majority of these dreams were dreams I've had my whole life.

I  have something special in mind to do with this list now that it's complete. The actual pages I wrote on that is, which by the way is so ragged and dirty looking at this point between spills and cross out and all that. I hope to share it with you once it happens!

I am going to create a page just for these dreams so they are in one place. I am excited to get them all down with links, pictures, and such to make it that much more visual for myself and anyone else who is struggling to follow their dreams.  I am also planning my follow up series called "Living the Dream" to start checking off some of these items.

Of course this series won't have a regular posting time as this will take time. Maybe I will revisit these each quarter to see where I'm at. We shall see as things progress.

I again want to thank you all for following along and all of your encouragement and inspiration. I would love to know if you are doing something similar and would love to follow along if you are!

Happy Friday and get out there and live your dreams!

100 Dreams Project Vol 9

Happy Friday. We made it. I wasn't sure I was going to make it on Tuesday, so this is a huge accomplishment. It's been a pretty challenging week and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier now that it's the end of it. The weekend may bring some relief to the challenges but Monday they will be back.

One of those challenges brings me back to a post about my cat Grace. We decided to have some testing done because of her behavior. We got some news that could mean many things. A lot of those things may not be great news. We need to do more tests to see what's causing the issues, but my heart is breaking thinking about this. I try not to think of the worst, but it's been very hard for me not to.

Grace was my therapy kitty. I got her when I was in a very bad place a few years ago and she has helped me immensely with my anxiety. I adopted her from the shelter. We rescued each other. The thought of her not being with me tears me apart inside. As I am typing this I have tears streaming down my face. It's such an emotional topic for me.

All I can ask is, please pray for my kitty. She's 3 and has a lot of life to live still. I still need her.

I continue to remind myself that all of these challenges are helping me become a stronger person. I will get through this. So let's get on to the dreams for this week. Today marks the 2nd to last week of my 100 Dreams project. Crazy right? Next week will be my grant finale!

I hope I can push hard to find those last 10 dreams. It's gotten tough the last few weeks to really think about what I want. Let's take a look at number 81-90.

81. Learn to let go of guilt and resentment
82. Eat pastries in Paris
83. Get over my fear of public speaking and travel to speak about mental illness and self love
84. Rescue as many shelter cats as humanly possible
85.Take a cooking class to learn how to make appetizers and desserts. All the little fancy things!
86. Visit Ayana Resort in Bali to experience the floating champagne breakfast in a pool
87. Stay in a hut over the water in Figi
88. Go on a Mediterranean cruise
89. Have my photos commissioned for a great cause (I like to photograph scenery)
90. Eliminate hate in this world. Be the change. Be a leader. Make it happen.

Have a wonderful weekend, and don't forget to dream!

100 Dreams Project Vol 8

It's that time again. Time for my next 10 dreams. I can't believe I am posting my 80th dream today! It feels like I just started this  project, and we are at 8 weeks already!

I have really loved doing this series as it reminds me that even on the really low days, I still have dreams. Once I wrap up all 100 dreams I will do some follow ups. They will all be put in one area as well so they are easier found if you had interest to see what I had on my list.

So without further adieu, numbers 71-80!

71. Commit to a healthy lifestyle with food and stick with it.
72. Backpack across southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam)
73. Stay in a hostel
74. Get over my fear of swimming in bodies of water
75. Create a brand that's recognized for empowering women of all body shapes
76. Visit Disney locations all over the world
77. Learn to be patient with not only myself but with others
78. Love myself unconditionally
79. Be comfortable in shorts and tank tops. It's been a LONG time
80. Own an Italian Greyhound

Check out my 100 Dreams Project Into to get started on your own list!

I hope all of your hopes and dreams come true! Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Chat featuring 100 Dreams Project vol 7

Happy Friday folks! Man it was a long one. If you read my post from yesterday, you know it was just one of those weeks.

I had a ton of posts sort of prepped for this week, but not 100% ready to go, so that was a big fail on my part. The time just never came. Now I have all kinds of stuff for next week, which is nice.

Anywho.. I am looking forward to my weekend. I have a sort of busy day on Saturday, but all good things. My parents are coming to visit with us and then me, R, and the bloob are headed to a Jack and Jill bridal shower.

So let's get into 5 things that are worth chatting about from this week.

1. 100 Dreams Project

I can't believe I am already up to number 70! This is my seventh week sharing my dreams with all of you. It has been really eye opening and I just cant believe how easy it has become to share my inner desires with the world. Have you ever written yours down? For more info on the project, visit the intro here.

61. Fly in a glider
62. Take a honeymoon (We will be married 2 years in September and haven't done this yet)
63. Renew my vows in 20 years
64. Pose nude for an artist confidently
65. Record a song in a recording studio
66. Meet the royal family (The Winsors)
67. Show my son the world
68. Write a novel that gets adapted into a movie.
69. Visit world renowned spas around the world.
70. Practice yoga in India

2. All the books!

I went to the library this week and walked out with 4 books. That is A LOT for me. I am hoping I can read them all. They are all mostly books on business related topics. I remember a time when non-fiction books bored me to tears. Now I devour them. The more knowledge I can get, the better.
What about you? What are you reading these days?

3. Baby Bloob is 3 months old!

How in the world is that even possible?! I don't want to believe it, but he has grown so much over the past 2 weeks. He smiles more. He stays awake and interacts more. He SLEEPS more. The only thing that I am not as excited for is, he is starting to teeth.

He is not so great yet with his hands and holding things, so I had to buy one of those pacifier teethers for him. He is still a little unsure about it, but I an tell he likes the feeling on his gums. I am sure he will warm up to it soon.

It looks like he will be keeping his blue eyes. That makes this momma super happy. Everyone says he looks like his dad, but it's nice to see a little bit of me in him. He's got those Irish eyes. They make my heart melt!

Also I am still really on the fence on whether or not I want to share photos of my little. I love him to pieces and I love to talk about him, but I am still not sure I want to share his photos on the internet yet. We will see as things go, but this is how I feel right now.

If you have kids, how do you feel about sharing on your blog/social media/etc?

4. Postpartum Body

This week I really started working on losing some of this weight. It was time. Bloob is 3 months old and I need to stop making excuses. He will only be running all over the house soon. I need to be able to keep up. I am cutting down my carb intake by a lot. I realized I eat a TON of carbs daily. Not so good for the weight loss situation.

I need to remind myself I am still breastfeeding so I can't do anything too crazy, but eating better makes me feel better. The above photo is where I am currently. It is hard to tell in this photo, but I still have quite a baby pouch that needs to go bye bye.

I am more concerned about being healthy then looking good, but that would be a nice added bonus right?

5.  Amazon Prime Day

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I will see you all back  here on Monday!

The 100 Dreams Project Vol 5 & Friday Chat

Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend! What about you? I have a few things to chat about today as well as my next set of dreams for my 100 Dreams Project

1. 100 Dreams

41. Have my family be close again.
42. Have a space just for me dedicated to writing, yoga, meditation, etc.
43. Confidently promote myself.
44. Be a great parent.
45. Be a mentor.
46. Land a sponsorship that pays me to vacation.
47. Figure out what my "dream" job is.
48. Own a Range Rover Sport SVR in Estoril Blue.
49.Start a benefit/foundation that helps women with body image issues and mental health.
50. Dance like no one is watching. I need to get over the fear of people watching me.

2. Updates

Yay for blog updates! I am finally sprucing the place up a bit. New layout and nicer photos. I am actually taking time to either take my own photos or buy stock photos to make everything a little more clean around here. I can't believe how long it has been since I did any kid of housekeeping here. It is super exciting for me. Maybe not so much for you. Sorry about that.

I'm giddy about writing a new "about" page and adding some more focused topics here. This will always be a lifestyle page, but I truly believe if you write about what you love, it will be effortless and the passion will shine through to your readers. That is my main focus now. Write what makes me happy. If it goes viral great! If not, that's okay too.

3. Speaking of going viral..

So I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago that a link from my blog was posted on a Reddit thread. Well it is apparently getting some hits because that post is now the top post on my blog. See exhibit A:

Not bad for a post I wrote in 2016.. Mind you this was the page views for one week.

Moving on.

4. Letter boards

Guys, I think I have found my new passion in life. Maybe even my "dream" job. Sorry dreams post, I think I just scratched one off the list before you were even published. So I got myself a letter board at Target (Also speaking of Target, I think I go there 900 times a week now that I'm a mom.. but that's a whole 'nother post) for a project and now I own 3. Mind you I went to Target on Sunday, like this past Sunday. Yeah I have a problem. Check out my 2 first masterpieces on Instagram. Follow me while you're there. I'm sure there will be MANY more great letter board works of art to come.

5.  Who likes it HOT HOT HOT?

If that's you, move to Central NY. It is going to be SO HOT this weekend. Like it's going from being in the upper 60's and rainy all week to the mid 90's this weekend with full humidity! Seriously! I am already roasting just thinking about it. I will NEVER complain about the heat after the winter we just had, but can we at least ease into the fires of Hell? Thanks!

How was your week? I hope it was fabulous! Have a great weekend! Stay hydrated!

Friday Feels and Other Fun Stuff!

My last Friday of freedom (oh no!) and the first day of the second half of 2018!

Next week I will be going back to work after 8 glorious weeks of maternity leave. I mean I wasn't getting any sleep or traveling, but it was nice to only have one focus really. My little baby boy.

So not much happened this week as far as life stuff but I do have quite a few things I want to add to my 5 things on this first Friday of June.

First off, I feel like the first part of this year sailed by with very little motivation or accomplishment. I mean I did have a baby in April and that was one pretty big accomplishment, but as far as some of my goals and specifically this blog I didn't accomplish much. That's where my 5 things come in..

1. 100 Dreams Project

Today I am starting my 100 Dreams project with my first 10 dreams. This project will run for 10 weeks as I will write about 10 dreams a week until I reach 100. You can read more about the project and how you can participate on my Intro to The 100 Dream Project post.

1. Believe in myself.
2. Find internal peace (Master meditation).
3. Become my own boss and be successful.
4. Create a successful subscription box.
5. Raise my son to be a good honest man.
6. Make an income from my blog.
7. Own a pair of Tieks and not faint at the price
8. Go on 1 girls trip a year and not worry about a budget.
9. Hire a housekeeper to clean once a month.
10. Attend afternoon tea at a tea house in London.

2. I like lists, but I can't seem to use planners

Every year it seems I spend money on some form of nice planner and I never, ever use it. It collects dust. It's pretty to look at, but is completely empty inside. I have probably spent hundreds of dollars over the years on planners that I never use. Because today is the first day of the second half of the year, I figured I'd challenge myself to use the planner I purchased back in January. Turn over a new leaf so to say.

3. When your blog gets negative "press"

I logged into my blogging dashboard the other day and noticed quite a bit of traffic on an old post. Every so often that happens, but when I looked at the last entry points, it came from a Reddit thread. My first thought was "that can't be good".

As suspected it wasn't exactly the best reason to have a link posted on another page. Basically a post I wrote about events leading up to my wedding sparked some negative comments on the particular thread. It was a thread about disliking MLM companies, especially if they are promoting their businesses at a wedding. The post in question had nothing to do with an MLM that I sell. It did discuss items from an MLM but not me personally trying to promote anything.

It was weird to me. Being mean to other people on the internet just because you assume something isn't exactly the best thing. I am not going to let it get to me or dwell on it, but it does amaze me how these things come to be. I guess all I can say is, "thanks for the traffic!".

4. Glossies Made Me Do It!

Last weekend I went through a large stack of magazines (glossies!) that were taking over my living room book shelf. Lauren from Shooting Stars Mag reached out and told me about a link up she co-hosts call Glossies Made Me Do It. Sounded like fun so why not?! I was reading all of the Real Simple magazines dated back to September.

I got up to February and what I did was take an article from January 2018 about not knowing what I want as a passion and used it to influence my 100 Dreams Project mentioned above. It basically encourages you to start doing things that make you happy. See where it takes you. For me it has been writing. Writing all of these dreams down is already inspiring me more and more every day.

5. Gratitude

Another week has come and gone and I am always reminded of all of the things I am grateful for. On Wednesday a good friend of mine pulled some oracle cards for me which lead to a Reiki session. All of the pulls were pointing to change and the ending of a cycle. My body has been under a lot of stress between being pregnant and not knowing what is going to happen once I go back to work.

Nicole from Reiki Panda was able to help my body relax and to remind me that I can only do one thing at a time. My mind was so full of chatter she described it as the snow on TV when cable is out. It is pretty accurate. I have so many thoughts going on at once, it's no wonder I don't know what I'm doing half the time.

I am so grateful for the time she spent with me to help me clear some things up. I feel more at ease today and I slept well even with an infant in the house. I would recommend her a million times over if you are seeking answers to your life.

If you are not familiar with Reiki it is "a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being."

Distant Reiki can be done, which is what I had done. You do not have to be local to her for this to work. If you decide to get in touch, let her know I sent you! She's a dear friend and I always want to support the people I love.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Namaste.

100 Dreams Project Intro

100 Dreams

Do you know what you want out of life? Do you struggle with finding a passion? I sure do. That is why I'm working on a 100 dreams project.

Each week I will write out 10 of my dreams and a little blurb on why it's a dream of mine. Doing this is really going to help me narrow down what it is I should be doing with my life because I'm in sort of a rut right now.

They will help me lay out goals to reach these dreams and find my passion.

Because this isn't an easy task, I am using some different categories to spark some thoughts. I recommend doing that as well if you are planning to follow along. Here are those categories:

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Intellectual
  • Spiritual
  • Psychological
  • Material
  • Professional
  • Financial
  • Creative
  • Legacy
  • Character

Starting tomorrow, every Friday I will be looping in my 10 dreams with my Friday post. I am super excited to do this and I hope it will inspire some of you to do it too! I am also thinking about doing one week where I share dreams that have already come true. Maybe also some shared dreams that me and R share. This could really spark a lot of thought.

Happy dreaming!

Make sure you follow along!
