A Valentine For Yourself

On this day of love, let’s celebrate the love we have for ourselves! This is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. Do this by making a list of things that you have accomplished that at one point you thought were hard.

Thinking about this I have a lot of accomplishments I never consider on a day to day basis. We are a pretty amazing species when we stop and look at what we can do.

Here is my list:

I became a mom: This is something I was so scared of. The whole time I carried Ben I prayed every night I would be a good mom. I prayed I would be able to handle a little human. I prayed I wouldn’t mess my kid up because I had no idea what I was doing. Well that kid is 10 months old and he’s loving and happy and an all-around great kid.

Becoming a certified Yoga teacher: There are days I still can’t believe I accomplished this. I am that person who is terrified of speaking in front of a room of people and would never raise my hand to volunteer as a demonstrator at an event, yet I signed on to not only talk to a room of people, but teach them how to move their bodies in a way that will enhance their lives. This is HUGE for me.

Becoming a leader: This one can be taken differently by different people, but to me, it is an accomplishment. I always felt like the follower in life with a million ideas. I never seem to know what to do to implement my own ideas, so I would just do what others do. Now I understand how to be a leader and to follow my own lead and dreams. I know my own worth. This makes me feel so very accomplished.

Getting up every day: This may sound silly, but when dealing with depression and all the things, this can be hard. You want so hard to get up and be a happy person, but you don’t feel that way and staying in bed sounds like a better idea. It is an accomplishment to me every day when I choose to live my life verses sleep it away. When winter is over, those feelings die down and it’s easier, but when full on winter is here, this is an everyday struggle.

There are so many other things I can list here. Our accomplishments are all around us. We just need to recognize them. I hope you take a moment today to check in with yourself. Pat yourself on the back and keep on keeping on my friend! You are loved when you love yourself.

Friday Love

Hey all!

Popping in on this fabulous Friday to say hello. I also wanted to announce a new creative thought I had over the past few days. I want to do a monthly share/link up for all of you beautiful souls. I want you to share your businesses! I want to be able to support you all in anyway that I can! I will also pick out businesses of the week from each monthly link up to feature on my blog for free!

I am doing this because I simply believe in just being a good person. Being a good person helps bring luck back to you. I strongly believe that.

The only thing I ask of you in return if to return the favor. Help your fellow entrepreneur's out. Whether you are a girl boss, a boy boss, or just getting started, sharing the love is always the best way to get your business moving.

This link up will start on Wednesday August 16th, and will continue every 3rd Wednesday of each month!

More info to come soon as well as a graphic. I will also come up with an official name for the link up!

Also more exciting news on Monday about where this link up may end up...

In the meantime, let me know your thoughts on this! Do you have ideas? Do you wasn't to collaborate with me on this? Let me know! Always wanting to share the love anyway that I can... Plus doing things with friends is more fun!

Happy weekend beautiful souls! See ya Monday!

I needed a reminder

The day after a holiday that falls inconveniently on a Tuesday is always the worst. Even more so when you had to work Monday. You know the feeling right?

Not that I'm complaining. A fourth of July on a Tuesday really brought back all the feels and memories. The first fourth I spent in my current city fell on a Tuesday in 2012. My first summer holiday away from my family. I was to new at my job to ask for time off and I didn't want to take a day trip home.

Nostalgia won me over when I thought about where I was in life then compared to where I am now. I was younger. I was single, still recovering from a pretty scary break up situation. I was very much naïve. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was sure as hell doing it the best I could on my own.

It's funny how dates, holidays, days of the week, etc, can make you feel things. They can transport you back to a time where maybe you were really happy. It can also transport you back to a time where you weren't so happy. Maybe you lost someone. Maybe you lost yourself. Maybe you met someone. Maybe life was just coming at you just the way you wanted.

In any event, moments happen and something will always bring you back. They are there as lessons and reminders. Reminders that you are still here no matter what happened in the past. You made it. You are in the present trucking along.

So, thank you Tuesday, July 4th for bringing back a time where I was being strong on my own even when I was kind of lost. It reminds me that today in the present I can do the same. I have a bigger support system now and I can rely on them and myself to make it through the hard times.

I got this.

I needed that reminder.

Namaste.

THANK YOU!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I just wanted to take today to say THANK  YOU to all of you that are coming  back everyday to see what I am up to. You guys rock and I love you for it. It really puts a smile on my face to see your comments and to read your emails. I have not been feeling the best lately and I think I finally have a real reason why. Writing this blog helps me escape my stresses and lets me be in a place where I am happy.

Next week I will be back with new topics that are jam packed with information, laughs, and  just good fun reading. This week has been kind of lax while I sort out some personal stuff. I appreciate your understandings and kind words as I sort these things out. Friday I will be explaining a little bit of whats going on, so stay tuned!

I hope you all have a great day and I will see you back here Friday!
