2015 Blog Updates

Hi all. As we make our way into the first full week of 2015, most of us back to work and school, this is a time where we all try to get back on routine. Routine can be exactly as you left it in 2014, or a new one you want to acclimate in 2015. Personally, I have come up with 2 sets of goals this year. One for this blog and one for my own personal development.

I will talk about my blog goals and updates today because they easy said and to the point. The first thing I want to point out if you had not already noticed, the blog has a new look. With the new look came new categories on my side bar. I decided to better plan out my content and make it easier for you all to find. I feel these 4 categories sum up The Trish List the best:

Thrifty
Life
Fitness
Blogging
Central NY

I consider myself a Lifestyle blog so you can find all things "do it yourself", personal stories, recipes, and anything else life related under the category Life.

I have always been pretty good at talking about being healthier and following wellness plans. I decided this year to focus more on that and add it as a category. You can find everything health, fitness, and wellness under the category Wellness.

I talk about free stuff a lot. I am pretty thrifty as well. This was definitely something I needed to categorize on my blog. You can find anything free, thrifty, or just plain shopping awesomeness under the category Thrifty.

Last but not least, I am working on a Happiness Project this year so anything happy and fun related will be under the category Fun.

The new look and the categories are helping me get organized. I feel like this will make a huge difference as I continue my blog journey.

The second goal I want to focus on here is growing. More promotion. More interacting. More great content. I have learned so much in 2014 and hope to learn tons more this year. I want to start applying these skills to make you want to come back for more!

With these 2 goals I feel 2015 will be a great year for growth and new opportunities!

Come back tomorrow to see my personal goals for the year!

Happy 2015!

Hey there loves! First and foremost I want to say Happy New Year! I hope you all had a happy and safe holiday season. Mine was super crazy! I am now trying to do a little relaxing today. I am still away on my mini birthday bucket list getaway! More about that next week I promise!

 I am super excited to see what 2015 has to bring. 2014 was a big roller coaster for me, but it did bring me one huge blessing, and that is this blog. I started a small review blog in February that only had 1 post per week. Slowly by May I had decided to become more involved and moved myself over to Blogger. I was a serious blogger now guys!

I have learned so much over the course of 10 months. I have met some amazing people and hope to continue this wonderful blog journey right through 2015 and beyond. In case you didn't notice, the blog had a little makeover. I am so in love with it. Ash over at The Grits Blog did such an amazing job! I could walk into the new year in confidence with a new look.

I know its a little cheesy to talk about resolutions, but I feel like this year is going to be a big one. I can feel lots of change, good and scary. Back in May I made the decision to become healthier. It has not been an easy road, but I do feel like I am getting healthier. I am going to continue that resolution right into this year. I also want to take more risks. I had planned on doing my first ever vlog today, but because of my trip and the shrinking week, time got away. I promise I will do one soon to jump out of that safety box I've been living in!

 Another thing I am planning on this year is my own Happiness Project. I read the book and decided there a are a lot of things I need to change. It's the little things that matter and I keep forgetting that minute detail. I may even make it more of a happiness bucket list. Who knows! 2015 will guide me I'm sure!

Last, but certainly not least I want to talk about something new I have been sporting. I am in love with my new eyeglasses! If you follow me you know I am not afraid to be seen in my glasses. About a month ago I was approached by Firmoo.com to try and review a pair of their eyeglasses. Because I needed to have my eyes examined anyways, I thought this was the perfect opportunity! The website was super easy to use and i got my eyewear back super quick! I really do love them!

Now because I did promise to do a vlog today, I had planned on wearing my new glasses. Because that didn't happen I have decided to do a post next week on how to order glasses online. Being a certified Optician makes it a breeze for me, but I do know some people struggle to get things ordered correctly. Stay tuned for that post new week!

I hope you all had an amazing start to your new year! See you all next week!

It's my birthday!

It's finally here! My birthday! (Or New Years Eve if you celebrate that...) A couple of posts ago I told you all about the top 10 reasons having a December birthday sucks, so today I want to move on to something I have adopted to make my birthday more fun. A bucket list. I made the decision a few years ago to try and visit some of the top places to celebrate ringing in the new year. Even more fun is I am celebrating today in one of these cities listed. Can you guess which one? It was a birthday gift to me from my other half and I am going to keep it a secret a little longer. (Hint: Follow me on Instagram to see some clues of where I am!)

/*/ New York City- Checked off in 2006 into 2007!

/*/ Disney World - Made it here for Christmas in 2008 but never New Years!

/*/ Vegas! - Made it here for the summer of 2005 but never New Years!

/*/ New Orleans

/*/ Nashville

/*/ London

/*/ Australia

/*/ Singapore

So I still have quite a bucket lists of places to get, but no matter what it is, my birthday is always anything but ordinary! I always celebrate with friends and in style :)

Happy New Years everyone! I hope it is a good one! Stay safe and have fun! See you in 2015!!
