I'm a year old!

Whew! What a crazy couple of weeks it has been! In case you haven't noticed, The Trish List got a new look over the weekend! (Jenn over at Business, Life & Design did an amazing job!) We grew up.. sorta. May 1st was my 1 year bloggy birthday and with all of the craziness going on in my personal life, I neglected to celebrate my first year of blogging. I am so proud of myself for sticking with this and writing even when things got tough. I would often have moments when I thought "Do I really want to continue on?"

I am so glad I decided to keep writing for you all week after week. I have met so many wonderful people and learned so much from each and every one of you. As all bloggers point out, this can become a full-time job on top of our full-time jobs, whatever they may be. We put lots of sweat and blood into these spaces. Hours are spent on writing, photographing, exploring, editing, and reaching out. I couldn't of done it without all of you! My readers, fellow bloggers, and innocent bi-standers. You all make coming here and writing daily fun and enjoyable!

I can't wait to see what year 2 has in store for me and for all of you. I have lots of ideas and things I keep promising and then push back, but now that things seem to be slowing down for a few weeks I can get some of this stuff rolling! I am always looking for ways to collaborate so please feel free to reach out if you have any ideas!

I hope you all have an amazing Monday and week to follow. I will see you back here Wednesday! Keep on keepin' on folks!

Wellness Wednesday: Acupuncture

It seems as though the cold was enough to knock me down for a few days, but today I am back to talk about being and staying well. I recently learned a medication I was taking was the cause of my rapid weight gain even after I questioned my doctor about it. The answer was always the same. No the medicine is not your problem. Your diet is. That's great and all but I was barely eating at that point and I was still packing on the pounds.

I have since stopped the medication but I still needed to deal with the reason I was on the medication. A friend recommended acupuncture. I have completed 2 sessions and I have to say I have already noticed some pretty great things. First thing I noticed were my menstrual cramps were non existent. On my second visit I was way into a full blown cold. The points she used eased up the sinus pressure and helped the cold along. It calmed down quite a bit after that.

When I went into my first session I wasn't sure what to expect. I am not a fan of needles by any means. After taking my history I was instructed to lay down and relax. The needles were very tiny and but I can't say I didn't feel them. There was a little pinch and then at times it was a little uncomfortable if I moved. I rested with the points in for 30 minutes. I was told that depending on what's going on in your body the points could be intense, which is that uncomfortable feeling I mentioned.

All of the points were removed and I only had a little bleeding on my forehead. Later that night I had a little soreness where some of the points had been. The next morning I felt back to normal. My second session was still intense but no soreness after. I am looking forward to my third session this week.

Have you ever had acupuncture? What was your experience?

Just another manic Monday..

So many great things to report to you all, but today is not the day.  I am still nursing a pretty nasty cold and all of the moving festivities still have me pretty exhausted. Good news though, I am all moved and settled in to R's place. I am going to work at being healthier this week and hope to have a new fresh post for you all on Wednesday! I hope you all have an amazing Monday and I will see you all back here soon!

Muah!
